Description:
The nodes in this network represent all of the characters involved in the episode that interacted in one way or another. The edges represent what these interactions specifically were, e.g. talking, serving dinner, hugging, etc. The different colors serve the purpose of depicting these different interactions. For example, the most frequent color (yellow) shows that the two characters talked to each other. Another visualization made to the edges was with the edge width. The edge width represents the frequency of each interaction. The thicker the edge between two characters, the more that specified interaction occurred. This is commonly seen among many of the yellow edges because a lot of the characters talked to each other frequently. The size of the vertices represent out degree. The opacity of the vertices is represented by betweenness centrality. Lastly, the tooltip shows the clustering coefficient. The algorithm that showed the network in the most clear and concise way in my opinion was the Haren-Korel Fast Multiscale layout, therefore I chose that one. The group layout algorithm used was Clauset-Newman-Moore.
